The Grass Is Greener Where There Is Fire
by Mpho Taole
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothingJames 1:4 KJV
There are many times where we’ve heard people say “the grass is greener on the other side”. Many times the people that say this, are those that don’t desire to improve themselves or the situation that they find themselves in.
About a week ago, I was driving on the highway and I happened to pass a place where the grass was burning. I couldn’t help but think: That grass is going be so beautiful after it burns and it starts becoming green again. I started to wonder how many people would pass by the green grass not knowing the process it took for it to become what it is.
So many times we have looked at people that we deemed successful or had lives that we desired, but have we stopped to consider what it took for them to get there? How much fire did that “idol” have to go through in order to be the shining star that you see? I would like to encourage you today to embrace the season that you are in. Let the fire burn away all that needs to die in order that in your new season, you will be flourishing.
You may look burnt and charred today, but tomorrow your colour will return, your grass will be green. Considered the words of James in his letter to the twelves tribes — he was basically reminding them that there is a lesson in every trial and in that lesson, the level of our quality is exposed.
You are a person of quality, do not covet that which is not yours but instead let patience have its perfect work in you.
